These players are just incapable of understanding basic statistics or what a Random Number Generator (RNG) is. You shouldn't waste your time trying to explain the rationality of drop rates and why Jagex released the numbers. therefore you didnt understand itĪs said before just because you dont understand doesnt mean its wrong / worthless Thanks for the reveals but can i just say those drop rates make 0 sense and many people would want to see them changed? What's the point of going dozens of millions of xp dry when someone just gets the pet at 65? Shouldn't the thresholds actually mean anything? Just ebcause you got the fish pet in 600k doesnt mean these figures are bs or useless. of a 1:5000, so on average 5 people would have got it. If they now all kill 5 theres a high chance atleast one will get the drop there has now been 25k rolls of that drop. theres a chance obviously one will, chance all will. If you got 5,000 people to kill a zombie, it doesnt mean one of them will get the scroll. It took over 25k ab spectres for the ab spectre oneĮven though they both have a drop rate of 5kĭoesnt mean zombie has higher chance because i was incredibly lucky with it. I have them all, it took 14 zombie kills for the zombie one They're fascinating, as far as fiction goes.Īll you have proven is that you dont understand rng / statistics Please, give us some more useless figures. I just recently did about 600k xp Fishing at Menaphos - got the pet. So what do you calculations have to say about that? Over 24m xp in Summoning - no pet. Then switched to Crafting, figuring I might get lucky and 150k xp later, I did. Didn't even get 300k xp and I got the Smithing pet. Then I switched over to Smithing figuring I might as well try for another level there since there seemed to be some confusion as to when the heck the event was supposed to end. I saw plenty of people around me get theirs. I myself during the Winter Event spent literally hours on end, I went from 100-110 Summoning there and no pet. I've seen players spend hardly any time at all at a skill and they get a pet. I still say what use are all the numbers that are presumably used for calculating the odds of getting a pet when it's all just nonsense in the end. just because you dont fully understand it doesnt mean its bs. If it was the way you say it is 100%, then thered be people under 2k total with moa, when there isnt. but its nice to know the actual drop rates of the pets. Knowing the rates makes little difference. with some like agility you can just do hefin pillars for "higher chance" due to it being time based. is it going to change the way people train for them? (maybe in some cases but most likely not) due to the actual rates of getting it. it doesnt make knowing the actual drop rates anything less. Yes it took you ages to get one pet and quickly with the other. but thats all possible when rolling the chance Yes there is someone with 1 defence with 1 def pet. If you look at everyone with moa joat joab youll see all have higher xp (200ms) only a few with no 200ms but rest 120s Yes its rng based, but there is science behind it thats how it is developed That whole chunk of jibberish was a complete facepalm This game has always been a joke when it comes to RNG. Someone could be level 5 and just do 15 minutes of whatever and get the pet and someone else could have 200m xp already in the skill, run past a freaking impling, loot it and get the damn Hunter pet. It'll drop if and when it drops and that's it. Please stop with the BS about all these calculations and all the rest of the crap. I mean that just blows the whole farce of all these algorithms the hell out of the water, doesn't it? RNG in this game has always been a matter of pure and absolute luck. I'll switch over to Crafting and see if I can get that pet as well. I didn't do even 150k's worth of training before I got the pet. Once I'd achieved my own personal goals and the damn event just kept dragging on for several more days, I decided to switch to Smithing and try to get at least a level there. And that doesn't even take into account all those who got theirs on other worlds. Pretty fair mix of players that went from x-99 and those who already had 99+. I watched literally dozens of people on my worlds get their Summoning pets while I did not. I had spent days getting over 24m xp in Divination. How else do you explain how I got both the Crafting AND Smithing Pets during the Winter Event? Time-based vs XP-based - it's all BS and nonsense.
